The 2024 solvency report, and every report before it

Our Solvency and Financial Condition Report for the year ended 31 December 2024 is published, and the six filed reports from 2019 onwards are now hosted here rather than linked elsewhere.

Dublin Docklands

The headline figures for the 2024 reporting period: £16.21m of eligible own funds against a Solvency Capital Requirement of £9.96m, a cover ratio of 163%, and a Minimum Capital Requirement of £3.32m — the absolute euro floor for credit and suretyship rather than the linear calculation, which is lower. Every one of those numbers is reproduced on the solvency section of this site from the filed report, with the quantitative reporting template each is drawn from named beside it.

Cover recovered from 139% at the end of 2023 to 163% at the end of 2024, and it is worth being precise about why, because the reason is not underwriting. Market risk on the deposit portfolio fell from £4.38m to £2.32m as the portfolio shortened. Non-life underwriting risk eased slightly, from £8.93m to £8.70m, with gross written premium down from £1.97m to £1.40m. The denominator moved; the way the book is selected did not.

Alongside the new report, the reports for 2019 through 2023 are now served from this site as well. They were previously cited to the Central Bank’s document store, which reorganises its paths from time to time — a citation that 404s two years after it was written is worse than no citation. Each year page carries its own report, its own template breakdown and the capital target the Board set for that period.

One reporting period on the site is not a filed figure. The 2025 period shows management figures, clearly labelled as provisional, standing in until that report is published. It is drawn with a dashed line on the charts and carries the same sentence of explanation everywhere it appears.
