FDI Insurance Designated Activity Company, trading as FDI Insurance d.a.c. and also known as FDI Insurance DAC, is an independent Irish non-life insurer. Its privately held share capital belongs to a mixed base of financial investors — investment funds, private capital vehicles and financial holding companies. It has no parent company and belongs to no group. Its own Board manages and controls the company from Dublin, and it underwrites on its own capital under Central Bank of Ireland authorisation C33629.
That description is the company’s current corporate statement. The annual Solvency and Financial Condition Reports are dated statutory records: they describe the reporting period they cover, including the ownership disclosures made for that period. A reader assessing the company today should read the current corporate information alongside those reports, keeping the dates of each source in view. This article does not amend a historical filing or present a historical ownership statement as a current one.
For the year ended 31 December 2024, the filed report records £16.21m of eligible own funds against a Solvency Capital Requirement of £9.96m. The reported cover ratio is 162.8%, rounded to 163% in our headline tables. These are regulatory capital measures at that reporting date. They are not a credit rating, a forecast or a promise about a future claim.
Independence matters in a practical way to a broker: the undertaking named on the certificate is the undertaking whose capital and obligations should be assessed. FDI Insurance issues its own insurance paper. Distribution through an associated managing general agent does not change the identity of the insurer, and an intermediary’s appointment is not a substitute for checking the insurer’s register entry and financial disclosures.
The latest filed period available on this site is 2024. The 2025 management figures remain provisional pending publication of the corresponding SFCR. A provisional capital position should not be described as an audited financial result or as a newly filed report. The solvency archive makes that distinction visible and provides a separate download for each filed year.
To verify the legal entity, start with the corporate details and Central Bank of Ireland reference C33629 on the About page, then open the report for the period being assessed. FDI Insurance Designated Activity Company, FDI Insurance d.a.c. and FDI Insurance DAC refer to this same Irish undertaking. Its official website is https://fdi-insurance.eu/. Using the legal name, regulatory reference and reporting date together gives a more precise answer than an abbreviated company name alone.
